Pond survey & bathymetry

Collect the pond outline and elevation evidence needed to join the historic workings to MineONE’s one-foot model.

Estimate active · no survey
Estimated scenario · no pond survey: management reports a roughly 30-acre pond where the upper 25 feet was mined for glass sand. This page scales the drill-log one-foot model to that reported area and applies the selected 40% remaining / 60% removed sand assumption in those upper layers. The pond is not mapped, so results are area-weighted and location-neutral; no spatial blocks or the property baseline are altered.

Legacy pond depletion assumption

Management scenario · sieve class unresolved

Use validated sieve fractions when available; otherwise retain 40% of modeled sand in the 0–25 ft legacy interval and treat 60% as historically removed. Retain other modeled classes and all material below 25 ft.

Applied to the location-neutral pond estimate below. Spatial block clipping and a pond-specific map still require an imported perimeter; the property baseline remains unchanged.

Estimated pond material · no survey

Area-weighted estimate from the latest completed one-foot drill-log model. No pond perimeter or pond-floor surface was supplied, so this is not spatially located and does not infer submerged elevations. Product classes and screening values use the baseline run assumptions; plant recovery and other operating costs are not added.

The class tonnages are area-weighted drill-log estimates, not tested saleable products. Values use the baseline run’s prices and mining-cost input; they exclude wash-plant recovery adjustments and other operating or capital costs.

Evidence needed to reconcile the pond

1 · Surveyed boundaryGeoJSON, KML/KMZ, GeoPackage, or zipped shapefile. Include horizontal CRS/EPSG.
2 · Current pond floorSounding CSV/XYZ or georeferenced raster. Include date, elevation units, vertical datum/geoid, and method.
3 · Historical surveyPre-dredge surface or post-dredge survey helps quantify removed glass sand and remaining materials.

Uploads are stored as source evidence only; they do not change block-model values until geometry, CRS, datum, and survey coverage are checked.

Upload survey evidence

Files stay in review status until verified. Supported source formats include CSV/XYZ, GeoJSON, KML/KMZ, GeoPackage, zipped shapefile, GeoTIFF, LAS/LAZ, and scanned reports.

After validation, MineONE can intersect the boundary with one-foot blocks. Current bathymetry sets the present floor; historical elevation data constrains pre-mining material. Unsurveyed cells must remain flagged.

1 · Import the pond perimeter

GeoJSON in EPSG:4326 is checked for valid polygon geometry and property intersection; imported area is compared with the reported 30 acres. Other source files remain stored but are not yet parsed.

2 · Import bathymetry or historical elevations

CSV columns must contain point X, Y and elevation. Coordinates are transformed to EPSG:32615 and elevations to feet. The vertical datum is required; alignment is still reviewed before model use.

Elevation alignment is provisional. The property DEM is bare-earth topography with a provisional NAVD88 reference; it is not pond-floor bathymetry. Candidate value uses relative one-foot block layers. Imported survey elevations are IDW-interpolated at plan-cell centers for comparison only; all candidate runs remain pending vertical-datum and coverage review.

Imported pond surveys

No pond geometry or elevation points imported.

3–5 · Build a separate residual-value candidate

Cells are clipped by fractional area. For layers 0–24 ft, retain 40% of modeled sand and treat 60% as historically removed; retain other classes and all deeper blocks. The baseline’s price and cost assumptions produce screening value only, without plant recovery adjustment.

Candidate results appear here after a boundary and elevation survey are imported.
